Life with Pixels

Life With Pixels is a creative meetup for anyone who eats, sleeps, and breathes creating work in a digital format.

5-9 PM
Sept. 20th
Draper | Cambridge, MA

Life With Pixels began in 2015 when just a few creative guys and gals got together over beers to chat about projects they were working on. Three years later we are still going strong. The crowd has gotten bigger but the reason why we meet remains the same, discuss great works with like minded creative people. If you work with pixels in anyway, this event is for you!

The goal of this event has always been to share work and techniques. This year we'll be hearing from experts in the field of Motion Graphics and VFX as well as see work from our fellow community members.

Take this opportunity to share your work and submit to our 'open mic' panel review - MORE DETAILS TO COME!

The goal of Life with Pixels has always been to showcase work, network, and most importantly, share approaches and techniques so we can all progress and grow. Please follow along as we reveal the event's details in the coming months.

2018 speakers

Ryan Summer

Type Lover. Pixel Peeper. Light Bender. Pencil Pusher. Curve Operator. Throw in root beer aficionado, hockey fanatic, and intercontinental man of art and science and you've got a lede that fairly accurately describes the life of Ryan Summers. He's worked with the likes of Guillermo Del Toro and JJ Abrams and is currently a Creative Director at Digital Kitchen where he designs, animates, and directs for film, television, and other assorted (and oddly proportioned) canvases. Please approach with caution, high fives, and a firm handshake. He will not bite.

Adam Gesuero

Partner & Creative Director,

Adam is the founder and creative director at Image Conscious Studios. He believes great design is as much about communication and solving problems as it is about creating beautiful stuff. Every day, Adam works with both clients and the team to set strategy, provide creative direction, and ensure the work ICS produces is the best it can be. He can even push a mean pixel or two. He also drives the vision of the agency, ensuring ICS is always reaching towards the future.

Before ICS, he started out as a freelance designer and photographer, and cut his teeth at various agencies and start-ups around Boston (back when they were called “dot-coms”). His client list includes brands such as New Balance, MIT, and '47 Brand, as well as local start-ups and scrappy brands that are looking to differentiate themselves and tell meaningful stories.

2017 highlights

Last year’s event was held in Portsmouth NH at 3S Artspace. With over 76 tickets sold we filled this local art hub with creative minds and lots and lots of delicious tacos. Speakers included a comic book artist, stop motion animator, and a VFX genius for Game of Thrones… ever hear of it? For 2017’s event we featured an animation contest that had over a half dozen entries. In addition to all this we also featured many 2D artists work in the gallery space.
